Kote Betta


Kote Betta offers one of the best adventure treks in Karnataka. The scenic beauty that the trail showcases is a treat to experience. The name of the hill has been derived from the Kannada word, meaning Fort Hill. Locals believe that the famous Pandava brothers spent a significant period of their exile here; so much so that they had built several stone houses that still remain in areas of Coorg. Kotebetta also has an ancient Shiva Temple and devotees during the festival season throng the premises.

Harangi Backwaters


Harangi Backwaters is one of the best places to visit in Coorg and it's about 10 km from Nakoor Volkot. Usually less crowded compared to the popular attractions in Coorg, this backwaters area is a paradise for bird watchers.

Makkalagudi Betta


Makkalagudi Betta has located in Kiraganduru 10 km between Somwarpet and Madikeri road. It has a breathtaking view and is one of the hidden gems in Coorg. There is a view of paddy fields, forests, and the waters of the Harangi reservoir.

Harangi Dam


Harangi dam is one of the major attractions of Coorg and a lot of people flock here to see the beautiful water when the gates are opened during monsoon. The water is here would be at its peak during the rainy season though the dam is built on a small stream of Kaveri river.

Madikeri


Madikeri is also known as the heart of India's coffee county. One of the main tourist attractions here is the Madikeri Fort. The Fort stands on an elevated ground in the centre of the town of Madikeri. This stately structure initially built of mud in the 17th century was later rebuilt with granite under Tipu Sultan. The Fort continued to see renovations and additions through the years under different Kings and then under the British rule too. It is known for its grand architectural design. Near the entrance stand two sizeable elephant structures built of mortar. The Palace inside the Fort is 110 feet in length and is a two-storied building. There is a sculpture of a tortoise inside the Palace and a clock tower.

Nisargadhama Ecological Park


Nisargadhama is a breathtaking and beautiful island off the state highway, Just 2 km from Kushalnagar town and around 30 km from Madikeri. An Ecological Park for young and old and a paradise for nature lovers also it has a small snack house, a deer park, boating, and elephant ride. It is a 64-acre island with the Cauvery river flowing by, can be accessed by walking across a hanging bridge. If you feel like having a relaxed time in a quiet and peaceful environment, Nisargadhama is the place. It gives immense pleasure to all the Nature-loving tourists.

Bylakuppe Golden Temple


Situated in the small town of Bylakuppe the Monastery is about 35 km from Madikeri. Locally the Monastery is also known as The Golden Temple. The Monastery is colorfully and beautifully decorated inside and is well worth visiting. Its golden roof-top and intricate architecture distinguish the Namdroling Monastery. This Monastery is the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. These two factors make the Namdroling Monastery one of the top places to visit in Coorg.

Dubare Elephant Camp


The Dubare Elephant Camp is one of the significant elephant camps, across Karnataka. Situated next to the River Cauvery and amid thick forestland, it provides an ideal location and natural habitat for elephants, and a tranquil place for tourists. Visitors can enjoy riding on the elephants, bathing the elephants, and feeding them. Trained naturalists will explain about the behavior and other aspects of elephants, as well as detail you on the ecosystem around and other wildlife. You can also indulge in many different activities while here, like trekking, catching fishing, rafting, and sailing on the river, as well as sighting a variety of wildlife and birds.
